The Middlesex High School girls and boys track and field teams both won at home on March 21 during a four-team meet in Saluda.
The MHS boys team won seven individual events to score an even 100 points and beat runner-up Lancaster High School by 17 points. The Red Devils scored 83 points, while Westmoreland and Charles City tied for third with 13 points each.
The Middlesex girls scored 91 points to win. Lancaster was the runner-up with 59 points, Charles City had 35 for third and Westmoreland 9 for fourth place.
In the boys meet, brothers Reece and Tyler Rhodes led the throwers. R. Rhodes won the discus with a 176’03” throw and the shot with 58’4” put. T. Rhodes was the runner-up in both the shot, 43’8.5”, and discus, 126’2”.
Trajan Waddy led Lancaster on the track, winning both the 110 meter hurdles, 16.28, and the 300 meter hurdles, 43.76. Teammate Zaden Veney was the runner-up in the 110 hurdles, 17.43, and third in the 300….
