The Kilmarnock Museum recently published their first visitor’s guide, Discover Kilmarnock.
The one-page folder brochure presents a brief history of the town, then offers a strolling tour of downtown, starting from the museum at 76 North Main Street, reported Kilmarnock Museum president Carroll Lee Ashburn.
The narrative notes many never-before-mentioned attractions in the downtown area, said Ashburn. It also points out things to see and do in Kilmarnock that are not available elsewhere.
Kilmarnock has over 20 eating establishments, 18 gift shops, eight dress shops and five consignment/resale stores, all within easy walking distance, he said.
Ashburn said that instead of calling on businesses and the community to support an annual fundraising event, the museum decided publish the brochure, “giving back to the town.”
The brochure urges visitors to shop, dine, stroll and stay in Kilmarnock.
