Museum to host archaeology talk and family activity day

The Lancaster Virginia Historical Society (LVHS) recently announced two archaeology-themed programs for May, a virtual lecture and a family activity day.

The LVHS Zooming in on Local History Speaker Series will continue at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 12. Fairfield Foundation archaeologist Dr. David Brown will present “Is This an Artifact? Understanding and Identifying Archaeological Finds.” 

According to LVHS executive director Karen Hart, Dr. Brown will address some of the common questions people have about local archaeology and discuss tips, techniques, and ethical considerations for collecting, dating, and interpreting material culture remains of the past….
