New school, new school year for Lancaster

It seems as if just a few days ago, Lancaster schools were recognizing the Class of 2022 at graduation. But now the end of summer is drawing near, and on Monday, August 22,  students will be returning to kick off another school year.

“We can’t wait to see our students and staff back in the hallways and classrooms,” said acting superintendent Jessica Davis. “Starting a new year is always exciting! We have so many exciting things happening in our division including the current renovation at the middle school. This space is already looking very different and will continue to become an amazing future elementary school.” 

The school board has begun its search for a new superintendent, which includes collecting community feedback through a survey until August 22. According to board chairman Joan Gravatt, the board “hopes to announce our new superintendent by mid-September.”

The biggest change for the division is the opening of the Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC). While there are still final touches to be made outside, the inside classrooms are ready for ….
