The state champion Lancaster Red Devils placed eight on the Class 1 boys all-state track and field team and named one to the all-state girls team.

Led by two-time state champion thrower Reece Rhodes and distance runner Matthew Kane, Lancaster scored 87.5 points on June 1 in Harrisonburg to win its second straight state crown in boys track.
The top three finishers in each individual event at the state meet earn all-state first-team honors.
Lancaster senior Rhodes won both the shot put and discus, while junior Kane was the runner-up in both the 800 and 1600 meter runs.
The Red Devils 4X400 meter relay team, senior Creston Saunders, junior Josh Woolard, senior Tylan Lee and senior Daveon Smith, made the first team after finishing as the runner-up in the relay. The LHS 4X800 team of Trajan Waddy, Woolard, Kane and Brooks Parker were also recognized as all-state with a third-place finish.
Freshman distance runner Rory Lally turned in a season best time to win the 1600 mile and represent Lancaster on the girls….
