Nine LHS swimmers qualify for VHSL state championships meet

In its second season, Lancaster’s swim team qualified nine swimmers in 12 different events for the Virginia High School League Class 1/2 state championships.

The state meet is today, February 20, at SwimRVA in Chesterfield.

Lancaster produced one regional champion at last week’s Region 1A/2A meet in Williamsburg in sophomore Morgan VerMeer, who won the 50-meter freestyle. VerMeer also placed third in the 100 freestyle.

Also guiding the boys team was freshman Jameson Scott, the region runner-up in both the 200 individual medley and the 100-meter butterfly.
