LHS boys teams place first in regular season with wins over Essex

With a 58-54 varsity boys basketball win over Essex last Friday, the Red Devils capped a 15-5 regular season and finished in first place in the Northern Neck District at 9-1.

Lancaster earned a home berth in the district tournament this week and was scheduled to host fourth-place Rappahannock (7-14, 3-7) in a semifinal game February 19. Second place Colonial Beach (17-5, 8-2) hosted third-place Washington & Lee (9-9, 7-3) in the other semifinal. The two winners will meet tomorrow, February 21, in the tournament championship at 8 p.m. at Lancaster High School.
