North Main Street right turn lane construction is complete

The new dedicated right turn lane from North Main Street onto James B. Jones Memorial Highway supports the through truck traffic route.

FREDERICKSBURG—A dedicated right turn lane is now open to traffic on North Main Street onto James B. Jones Memorial Highway in  Kilmarnock.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractor have completed the $1.1 million project to enhance safety, reduce congestion and improve mobility, reported VDOT Fredericksburg District senior communications specialist Darragh Frye.

The dedicated right turn lane from eastbound Route 3 to Route 688 is designed to accommodate truck….
