Northampton upsets Lady Devils, 7-3, in Region 1A softball tourney seminal

Lancaster lost the lead in the final inning last Monday to end its postseason hopes early in the playoffs.

Northampton made the three-hour trek from the Eastern Shore to beat the Lady Devils, 7-3, in a Region 1A softball semifinal at Dream Fields. Lancaster went 8-5 on the season.

The region’s number-one seed, Rappahannnock, shut out Northampton, 8-0, last Wednesday and went on to be crowned the regional champion Friday with a 3-1 win over Mathews in the final. The Raiderettes will advance to…
