Northern Neck Master Gardeners present soil program to third-graders

The Northern Neck Master Gardeners (NNMG) recently visited Northumberland Elementary School and Lancaster Primary School to teach third-graders all about soil.

“Children love to explore and learn at school or in their own backyards. But how do they learn about what lies only a few inches beneath their feet? They walk on soil every day but never think about the entire ecosystem underneath the soil,” said NNMG president Henry Riely. “The soil is truly alive and full of wonder.”
