This summer, the Northern Neck Soil & Water Conservation District (NNSWCD) will sponsor up to two Northern Neck students’ attendance at the Youth Conservation Camp (YCC) July 12-18 at Virginia Tech.
YCC is sponsored by the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts (VASWCD), reported NNSWCD education/outreach specialist Kathleen D. Watson.
This year marks the 44th year that selected students from around the state will travel to Blacksburg for five days of experiential learning on and around Tech’s campus, said Watson. Eligible student applicants must be in grades 9-12 for the 2019-20 school year.
The $550 camp fee covers the students’ meals, lodging, activities and transportation while at camp. The NNSWCD will award full sponsorships to up to two…
