HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, May 27, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Johnathan F. Mitchell of Lancaster, charged with probation violation on a felony offense, a status hearing was continued to July 15.
Kelvin D. Muse of Callao pleaded nolo contendere to his second regulation violation as a tier III sex offender. The disposition was deferred and a hearing was set for May 26, 2026.
In the case of James T. Raynor of Heathsville, charged with a probation violation on a felony offense, Raynor was not found and a capias was continued to July 22. Raynor is a fugitive.
Markell A. Scott of Heathsville pleaded guilty to strangulation. He was sentenced to five years with four years and 10 months suspended. He faces $1,048 in costs and will be placed on supervised probation for five years.
In the case of Randy Taylor of Fredericksburg, charged with four counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs, a trial was set for October 7.
