HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, November 25, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Keante A. Cockrell of Warsaw, charged with reckless handling of a gun causing permanent serious bodily injury, a plea hearing was scheduled for February 3, 2026. Cockrell also faces misdemeanor charges of hunting/trapping/fishing without a license, unlawfully hunting a wild animal, and trespassing to hunt/fish/trap.
Omar A. Galeas of Richmond pleaded nolo contendere to a felony charge of breaking and entering an occupied house to commit a misdemeanor. The charge was amended to misdemeanor trespassing after being forbidden to do so. A deferred disposition hearing was set for May 19, 2026.
Randy Taylor pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit. He was sentenced to 10 years with seven years and six months suspended. He faces $1,135 in costs and was placed on five years of supervised probation.
