HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, March 17, with the Hon. R. Michael McKenney presiding.
In the case of Robert N. Bibbens of Hague, charged with probation violation on a felony offense, Bibbins was not found and the case was continued to April 28.
Taykwan D. Lucas-Croxton of Hague pleaded guilty to a probation violation on a felony offense charge. He was sentenced to four years and three months with four years and one month suspended. He faces $691.35 in costs.
In the case of Richard G. Gallagher Jr. of Reedville, charged with two counts of probation violation on a felony offense, a status hearing was continued to March 24.
In the case of Latraven D. Rich of Warsaw, charged with distributing/selling Schedule I/II drugs for profit, a trial was set for April 7.
In the case of Joshua A. Morris of Warsaw, charged with child cruelty by labor and entering a house to commit assault and battery, a trial was set for May 5.
In the case of Maurice C. Veney of Spotsylvania, charged with possession/transportation of a weapon as a violent felon, possession of a weapon/ammunition as a felon, receiving stolen firearm/aiding in the concealment of a firearm, and carrying a concealed firearm, a status hearing was set for April 28.
In the case of Crystal F. Kappel of Heathsville, charged with two counts of construction fraud by advanced pay of more than $1000, a trial was set for June 9. Kappel also faces a misdemeanor charge of unlawful acts per business regulations.
In the case of Michael S. Kappel of Heathsville, charged with three counts of construction fraud by advanced pay of more than $1000, two counts of committing unlawful acts per business regulations, his third or more offense in 36 months, and obtaining money under false pretenses in an amount of more than $1000, a trial was set for June 6. Kappel also faces a misdemeanor charge of unlawful acts per business regulations.
Leonard L. Rock III of Heathsville pleaded guilty to grand larceny of more than $200, not personal property. He was sentenced to five years with five years suspended. He faces $930.55 in costs and was placed on supervised probation for five years.
