HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland County Circuit Court convened Tuesday, May 5, with the Hon. John S. Martin presiding.
In the case of Mark A. Thompson of Callao, charged with a probation violation on a felony offense, a bond hearing was set for May 19.
In the case of Wade C. Bryan of Heathsville, a charge of entering a school as a convicted tier III sex offender was dismissed.
Joshua A. Morris of Warsaw pleaded guilty to cruelty/injury to child by labor. He was sentenced to five years with four years suspended and will be placed on five years of supervised probation upon release. Morris also pleaded guilty to entering a house to commit assault and battery. He was sentenced to 10 years with eight years suspended and faces $2,125 in costs.
In the case of Jazmin M. Shipp of Callao, charged with failure to pay restitution, the case was continued to May 19.
