Northumberland County transitions to Everbridge emergency alert system

HEATHSVILLE—Northumberland County recently announced the rollout of its new emergency alerting and mass notification system powered by Everbridge.

This new system replaces the county’s previously used CodeRED platform. Everbridge allows county officials and emergency services staff to rapidly deliver important information to the public using multiple communication channels, including phone calls, text messages and e-mail. The system will be used to notify residents about severe weather, evacuations, public safety incidents, road closures and other urgent situations, as well as provide community resource information.

“As technology evolves, it’s important that we continue to improve how we communicate with our community” said Christopher Bailey, chief of emergency services. “Everbridge strengthens our ability to deliver timely, accurate information and better protect our residents.”
