Northumberland High graduates 104

Alicia Taylor celebrates four years of hard work coming to a close as she is handed her diploma.

CLARAVILLE— One hundred and four Northumberland seniors reached a major milestone of graduating high school Saturday, May 22. The school’s most recent alumni were celebrated with an outdoor commencement ceremony which included speeches from the valedictorian, salutatorian, class president and school staff.

Scholarships, awards and future plans were announced while graduates walked across the stage and received their diplomas. Many graduates have plans of furthering their education through two-year, four-year and trade schools, joining the armed services and entering the workforce.

Class president Savannah Harris left her peers with words of encouragement as they cross the threshold into young adulthood. She urged her classmates to challenge themselves and make the most of opportunities presented to them…
