Northumberland officials discuss plans for new school board office

HEATHSVILLE—Members of the Northumberland school board on Monday, August 12, shared plans for a new school board office with the board of supervisors.

The new office would be constructed on Academic Lane near the middle and high school campus. According to superintendent Holly Wargo, the proposed facility would include offices for department directors, a conference room, storage closets and bathrooms. The school board presented supervisors a draft architectural plan for a 6,960-square-foot structure.

Plans are still in the early stage and the cost of construction is not yet known. However, supervisors estimated during the meeting that a project of this scale would cost the county at least…
