HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland planning commission on Thursday, December 15, finished its proposed revisions to the solar energy facilities ordinance, voting 8-0 to recommend changes to the board of supervisors.
The changes would prohibit the development of such facilities on general residential and waterfront residential property and require a siting agreement, environmental impact statement, landscape agreement and surety as part of the conditional use permit application package. The surety revision for the decommissioning plan also would be reduced from five to two years and allow 12 months for decommissioning to be completed.
