HEATHSVILLE—Northumberland school board chairman Dave Curran on Monday, July 13, submitted a resignation letter just prior to the regular board meeting.
Vice chairman Cheryl Davis read Curran’s letter to the board. It stated his resignation would be effective as of July 31, 2026. The letter cited personal reasons requiring his full attention as the reason for his departure. Curran wrote that serving Northumberland schools was an honor and privilege.
No steps have been taken to replace Curran, who represents District 5. However, Davis noted there are policies in place on appointing a replacement which the board will be following….
