Northumberland school board receives 2021-22 budget update

CLARAVILLE—Superintendent Dr. Holly Wargo on Monday, May 10, announced Northumberland schools will all be opening under a regular five-day-a-week in-person schedule for the 2021-22 academic year.

Division leaders will be surveying families, students and staff about how to proceed with options for virtual learning for next year for those who choose to continue remote learning, added Dr. Wargo.

Currently, 57% of middle school students are attending classes in-person as well as 71% of elementary students, she said.

The school board also received an update on the fiscal year 2021-22 budget, which totals $20,297,120.
