Northumberland school board sends 2021-22 operating budget supervisors

HEATHSVILLE—The Northumberland school board on Tuesday, March 16, unanimously approved a 2021-2022 operational budget totaling $20,297,120 for consideration by the board of supervisors.

School board members voting in favor of the budget include Betty Christopher, Gayle Sterrett, Dana O’ Bier, Carl Perez and Denise Mazyck. The budget will be presented to the board of supervisors for consideration in the coming weeks.

Superintendent Holly Wargo indicated the 2021-22 total represents an increase of $1,684,171 over the 2020-21 operational budget.

According to director of finance Donna Booth, the budget incorporates a $1,051 sales tax increase, a state revenue increase totaling $197,225, and a total increase of $1,565,895 from county funds….
