CLARAVILLE—Members of the Northumberland school board on Monday welcomed 15-year-old Amaya Crabbe as their new student school board representative.
A sophomore at Northumberland High School, Crabbe is involved in school activities, clubs, sports and student organizations.
“I really like to be involved in the community and would love to make positive changes to our school,” said Crabbe in a statement read by superintendent Holly Wargo.
Student representatives attend school board meetings, present reports that reflect student news and events, and are responsible for sharing information from the school board meetings with the student government, said Wargo.
