Northumberland students return to campus on Monday

HEATHSVILLE—Summertime is coming to a close and classroom doors are starting to open as Northumberland County teachers and staff prepare to welcome students back for the first day of the 2021-22 school year on Monday, August 16.

Coinciding with the school’s motto for the year, “stronger together,” superintendent Dr. Holly Wargo said she is excited to see students back in the classroom, as NCPS will offer five days per week of in-person instruction.

While things are seemingly headed towards the direction of normalcy, schools will require all staff, students and visitors to institute universal mask wearing, said Wargo.

The decision for universal masking is based on the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)  and is in compliance with….
