The Kilmarnock Museum’s third “Shop Local, Shop Kilmarnock” sales event will be held August 13 and 14.
Sponsors are Liz Moore & Associates, Sandra Hargett; Sevarg Pools Inc., and the Kilmarnock Museum.
The two-day event will feature special sales and and opportunities to win a cash prize, said Kilmarnock Museum president Carroll Lee Ashburn.
“Shoppers will definitely have a doggone good time,” said Ashburn.
There will be a “Doggie in the Window” display at Rappahannock Hang Ups & Gallery, 74 South Main Street, Kilmarnock, said Ashburn. The doggie will be guarding an acrylic box full of money.
The person who guesses the correct amount of “K-9 Kash” will win the money and the pooch, said Ashburn. In the event of a tie, there will be a drawing among those entries with the correct “guesstimate” to determine a winner.
Shoppers may enter guesses at any of the participating stores, he said.
The “K-9 Kash” winner will be announced Wednesday, August 18, on the Nancy Travers Morning Show on 101.7 Bay FM.
