Northumberland supervisors address pending wastewater treatment matters

HEATHSVILLE—A special called joint meeting on Wednesday, July 21, of Northumberland supervisors and school board members to discuss the wastewater treatment plant at the middle/high school was postponed “due to vacations and other scheduling conflicts” according to a statement read by Richard Haynie, chairman of the board of supervisors.

“We look forward to working together to discuss what upgrades are needed to service the school complex more effectively and keep sewer operation costs down,” added Haynie.

Meanwhile, the board authorized county administrator Luttrell Tadlock to apply for a discharge permit for the school complex treatment plant through the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ).
