HEATHSVILLE—Citing a lack of clarity and answers, the Northumberland board of supervisors on Thursday, April 14, called for a special meeting with the school board, superintendent Dr. Holly Wargo and and director of finance Jason Bellows.
The frustrations began when county administrator Luttrell Tadlock presented supplemental appropriations requested by the schools related to outside funds: $1,550,184.97 in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER II) funds; $3,483,967.77 in ESSER III funds; $240,975 in a grant to replace a heating and cooling system; $576,274.94 in an Unfinished Learning grant; $100,000 for a before/after school program grant; and $139,379 in a summer learning grant.
