HEATHSVILLE—Northumberland County Treasurer Ellen Booker Kirby on Thursday, July 14, received the L. Gene Harding Lifetime Achievement Award from the Treasurer’s Association of Virginia (TAV).
The award, presented by Lancaster County Treasurer Bonnie Dickson at the Northumberland board of supervisor’s meeting, recognized Kirby’s nearly 43 years of service to the county, and leadership within the professional organization.
In addition to developing educational and professional development programs for Treasurers statewide, Kirby developed the performance measures and standards still used by the TAV. She also served as designer and editor of the TAV newsletter and the Statistical Abstract for many years…..
