It was 50 years ago this summer when Apollo 11 landed on the moon. To celebrate that feat, students at Northumberland Elementary School have set their own lofty goal—to read 15,000 books over their break.
In collaboration with the Northumberland Public Library (NPL) and the Northumberland Family YMCA, students can join the fun for weekly programs that will cater to artists, scientists, writers, readers and listeners, said Pameal Hagy.
NPL children’s program director Marilyn Smith put together a host of guests from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays at the YMCA that will include storytelling, comedy, science, theater and puppets…
