Nutshell regatta season opens under sunny skies, light winds

The Northern Neck Nutshell fleet competes in light and variable winds May 28 on the Great Wicomico River.

The Northern Neck Nutshell racers launched their 2022 season with the Nick England Classic May 28 at Glebe Point on the Great Wicomico River.

The regatta is named for the man who first built a Nutshell pram at Glebe Point in the 1980s. In the years after, many others followed in his steps and soon the racing developed, reported Bill England.  

As they say, any two sailboats on the same ocean and you have a race. The races have continued every year since, and this is the 33rd year….
