Two NHS athletes sign letters of intent

Northumberland High School graduates Brock Martin and Jay Bea recently signed letters of intent to play sports in college.

Martin has committed to play baseball for Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, where he plans to major in physical therapy. The Indians’ starting catcher, Martin has played for the middle school, junior varsity and varsity baseball teams at Northumberland and also is a decorated wrestler at NHS.

Bea will run track and field at Roanoke College, where he plans to major in computer engineering. A state qualifier in the shot put and discus, Bea graduated from the Northern Neck Technical Center with a certification in engineering design and received his associate’s from Rappahannock Community College.
