The visiting artist series at Objects Gallery, 4462 Irvington Road, Irvington will continue August 17-18 with artist clockmaker Leonie Lacouette of New York.
Beauty meets functionality in her clock designs fabricated from wood, stainless steel, copper and nickel, reported gallery manager Terri Thaxton. Her clocks are beautiful and often playful. In some designs, the otherwise hidden movement of the pendulum swings gently back and forth visible through a clever cut out creating a hypnotic game of “hide and seek.”
Guests are invited to an artist opening from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Lacouette also will show her latest creations from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, August 18.
The public is urged to view Lacouette’s clocks, talk with her about her techniques, inspirations and influences throughout the day.
