‘Oldies show’ to bring blasts from the past to Li’l Ole Opry Saturday

Performers of Virginia’s Li’l Ole Opry will kick up their heels on Saturday, May 14, and take patrons back in time to the “good ol’ days” of country and rock and roll.

The “oldies show” will feature the house band, Shades of Country, and all of the Opry singers, including some special guests, performing the best songs of yesteryear, said Opry president Lynda Smith. The show will be staged at the Harry M. Ward Auditorium, Mathews High School, 9889 Buckley Hall Road, Mathews. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m.
