On the links, LHS improving a shot at a time

Lancaster High School golfers edged Northumberland by eight strokes last week to pick up their third Northern Neck District win and improve to 4-1 overall.

Senior returner Leyton Dew shot a 39 on nine holes to lead the Red Devils to a team score of 171. Northumberland had a team score of 179.

Dew is one of five seniors on the LHS team and one of nine returners on coach Rob Pittman’s 10-member squad. Sophomore Miles Hollingsworth is the newcomer.

Sophomore Tyler Brent shot a 43 and Colin Payne shot a 44 for LHS against the Indians, while senior Pierson Long shot a 45 to complete Lancaster’s score card….
