KILMARNOCK—Ora “Elizabeth” Curry Blake of Kilmarnock died July 7, 2024.
She was born October 12, 1924, to the late Linwood Curry Sr. and Fannie Campbell Curry.
Elizabeth attended Northumberland County schools and graduated from Julius Rosenwald High School in 1943.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Kilmarnock, where she served as a missionary and with the kitchen ministry.
She worked at a clothing factory in Baltimore, Md., and also livd in Boston, Mass., and Philadelphia, Pa., before returning to Kilmarnock.
She was predeceased by her parents, Linwood and Fannie Curry; her husband of 57 years, Harris Blake; and siblings, Linwood Curry Jr., Addison Curry, Rebecca curry and Ida Curry Maiden.
A funeral service was held July 12 at Calvary Baptist Church followed by interment in the church cemetery and repass in the church fellowship hall.
