Peggy Jean C. Jones

REEDVILLE—Peggy Jean Campbell Jones peacefully passed away and she gained her wings and was reunited with the love of her life, Otis, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at the age of 82.

Peggy was born on November 17, 1938, to Benjamin Reamy Campbell and Della Virginia Allison Campbell.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Otis Jones.

She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Frances Jones Dunaway (Joe, Jr.) and Tina Raye Jones Green (Steve); three grandchildren, Kaitlin Danielle Dunaway (Brandon Hearold), Amber Nicole Green Cantwell (Brandon) and Benjamin “Ben” Peter Green; two great-grandchildren, Brighton Lee Hearold “Little Man,” 8, and Tulsi Grace Cantwell, 1; and sister, Brenda C. Fisher (Albert) of Heathsville.

Peggy was a lifetime member of the Northumberland Rescue Squad and a member of Tibitha Church of God.

Peggy will be remembered as the Burgess Postmaster who always had a smile for her customers and served Christmas goodies and would dress up as Mrs. Claus every year.

Though the last nine months have been hard, we are very thankful and appreciative of all the healthcare workers who took care of her.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northumberland County Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 1, Reedville, VA 22539.

Peggy was affectionally known as “Mom Mom.” She loved to read, cook, bake, crochet and be with her family.
