KILMARNOCK—Peggy Jo Abbott, 73, of Kilmarnock went to be with her heavenly father on November 26, 2024. She was born in Richmond, on March 7, 1951, to the late Harold E. and Peggy J. Sampson.
Peggy Jo is survived by her husband, Allen Abbot; children, Jamie Abbott, Travis Abbot and John Abbott; grandchildren, Lane and Walter Abbott; and her sister, Judy Mitchell.
Peggy Jo spent her working years mainly in the healthcare field, first as receptionist at the Kilmarnock Clinic, Dr. Goode and Dr. Lamberth, and then doing private duty nursing, which she loved. She is going to be deeply missed by her family.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
