Poker run raises over $20,000 for charity

The second annual Northern Neck Rotary Club Poker Run took place Saturday, July 16, on the Rappahannock River.

Nineteen boats entered the seven-stop competition, reported immediate past president Robin Hatfield. The route included three marinas and four anchored boats where contestants picked one card in a sealed envelope. The game of chance began at noon and concluded at 4:30 p.m. at Willaby’s where the poker hands were revealed at 5:30 p.m.

Malcome and Sarah Sargent placed first, winning the $5,000 top prize. Bayside Animal Hospital and Pet Emporium/Allison Joyce and Austin Robbins placed second, winning $1,000; and Xander and Kristin Stephens, third, $500……
