Some 44 brave folks dive into the chilly waters of Indian Creek for the 10th annual Camp Kekoka Polar Bear Plunge last Saturday. They raised a record $35,000, which will help send 70 kids to camp this summer, according to camp executive director Cassie Leichty. “This has really taken on a community event feel, which is what we were hoping for,” she said. The major fundraiser for Camp Kekoka benefits the Guardian Program. Last year about 35 plungers raised $25,000. “So this is getting bigger each year and we’re so happy about that,” said Leichty.
