Two of America’s leading historians will join forces May 15 for a special program inside Historic Christ Church (HCC) in Weems.
Lindsay Chervinsky and Clay Jenkinson will explore one of the enduring themes in the American experience: the struggle for religious liberty and its enshrinement in the First Amendment, reported development director Jill Sears.
Chervinsky is the executive director of the George Washington Presidential Library at Mount Vernon and author of multiple award-winning books. She spoke at HCC last September and calls Christ Church “phenomenal” and promised to return if this time she could speak inside the church, said Sears.
She will be joined by Jenkinson, a Rhodes scholar and winner of the National Humanities Medal who many know from his portrayal as Thomas Jefferson for three decades on….
