RAL Art Center hosting two exhibits for November

Rick Seguso displays award-winning “Peace in the Harbor.”

November brings two new art exhibits, “Sunrise, Sunset and Nocturns” and “From My Travels” to the RAL Art Center, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.

Some 84 original art works by members are featured, reported exhibits team leader Juli Schuszler. The exhibits will be on display until November 23.

Shauna McCranie judged the show. She is the executive director of the Greater Reedville Association, the executive director of the Reedville Fishermen’s Museum and a retired educator of 31 years.

RAL Art Center executive director Stephanie Brown presented the awards and McCranie’s comments at a First Friday reception November 1.

First place in “Sunrise, Sunset and Nocturns” went to “Peace in the Harbor,” an oil painting by Rick Seguso. McCranie commented, “the complimentary colors of the blue and orange make this painting so special. It just feels like fall on the Chesapeake.”

For second place, McCranie chose “Glasscutters….
