
KILMARNOCK—For almost eight decades, RAL has served as an invaluable creative and cultural touchstone for the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula.
It has provided a place for regional artists to exhibit their work, art appreciators to enjoy and acquire fine art, community members to attend classes and people to celebrate art and each other, according to board president Doug Mock.
RAL Art Center recently announced the public launch of the $1.2 million Art for All capital campaign to fund a new, multi-functional community art center. This undertaking will expand RAL’s current footprint from a traditional fine art gallery and single classroom into a central creative hub for art, education and community connection.
Organizers revealed the campaign’s quiet phase has already raised $900,000 through major donors, private grants and early regional support. RAL leaders are now turning to the public to raise the remaining $300,000 needed to complete construction by the….
