Rappahannock Music Study Club announces grant winner

The Rappahannock Music Study Club recently announced the 2024-25 grant awards for students who wish to further their music studies.

The first-ever auditions for the 2024-25 grants recently were held at Grace Episcopal Church in Kilmarnock. The day was a huge success, said scholarship chairman Laura Rowe.

The following students were awarded grants for private lessons for the 2024-25 school year: Daniel Hughes, cello; Lily Pickett, violin; Liam Pickett, violin; Sarajane Collier, piano; Daniel Riddell, cello; Miriam Sisson, piano; Victoria Lowery, piano; Estevao Santos, viola; Linwood Blizzard III, cello; Scarlett Brown, flute; Rachel Gutman, violin; Lily Hughes, cello; Kasey Conlan, cello; and Addy Mae Fillingame, violin.

This grant was established in memory of the late Carolyn K. Dunton (Mrs. Ammon G. Dunton Sr.), a founder of the club in….
