Junior Candace Slaw of Rappahannock was named Region A’s volleyball player of the year and the Raiderettes claimed five spots on the honor squad’s first team.
Rappahannock advanced to the Class 1 state semifinals before being eliminated from postseason play by Riverheads, 3-2. RHS won both the Northern Neck District and Region A tournaments.
Joining Slaw on the first team were RHS teammates junior Anne Lee Harris, sophomore Virginia Trible and sophomore Sadie Packett. Rappahannock junior Ellie Christopher was named the first team libero.
