Rappahannock sweeps Lancaster in volleyball

Rappahannock ended winning streaks for both Lancaster’s junior varsity and varsity volleyball teams last Thursday. It was the JV team’s first loss of the season and the varsity’s second.

The varsity Lady Devils split in Northern Neck District competition last week with a 3-0 sweep of Washington & Lee last Tuesday before the Raiders blanked Lancaster, 3-0, on Thursday.

Against Washington & Lee, the Lady Devils beat the Eagles, 25-17, 25-18, 25-19, with five servers combining to put over 23 aces. Rachel Taft led the way with seven, while Shelby Rose had six and Lizzy Woolard four. Carissa Davis and Kayleigh Self put over three each.
