FOLEY, AL—Raymond Winfield Shepherd, age 83, passed away November 7, 2024, at the home of his brother in Foley, Alabama.
Ray was born in Alexandria, but spent many years living in the Northern Neck where he was the charter boat captain on his boat, the Southern Belle.
He was predeceased by his parents, Raymond and Edna Shepherd of Morattico.
He is survived by his two daughters, Dawn Terrell and Carrie Shepherd, both of Georgia, and two grandchildren; his brother, Robert and wife Judy of Foley; two nephews; his long time friends, Bill and Beth Oakes of Hague and Gary and Janice Hutt of Montross. He is also survived by many friends in Quebec, Canada, where he spent his summers for over 20 years.
According to his wishes, Ray’s ashes will be scattered around the Northern Neck at his favorite fishing and hunting spots.
