Red Devils add athletes to list of indoor track and field state qualifiers

Junior Reece Rhodes won his third gold medal in the shot put and the Lancaster High School boys indoor track squad added another relay team and an individual to its already lengthy list of state qualifiers at the Christopher Newport University High School Showcase 2023 last weekend.

Lancaster’s indoor track team has now pre-qualified all three of its boys relay teams—200, 400 and 800—and has seven male athletes pre-qualified in individual events.

“And I have at least three guys on the team that haven’t even thrown the shot put yet that are throwing 50 feet or more,” said LHS coach Draper Washington.

Rhodes picked up another win with a 50’6” put to beat….
