The 27-0 Devils are hoping to cap a perfect season today, March 9, by winning the Virginia High School League Class 1 state boys basketball championship over George Wythe at the VCU Siegel Center in Richmond.

So far, the Red Devils have had an easy run to the final, rolling by opponents from Region B last week by a combined 46 points. George Wythe edged Auburn, 45-42, this week to earn its shot at LHS and the state crown.

The Devils rode a 17-point win over Franklin in the quarterfinals to Lynchburg Monday night, where Lancaster overwhelmed Altavista, 69-40, in a state semifinal at Heritage High School.

It’s looking more and more like no team can go the distance with the Devils for a full 32 minutes….
