Henry Smith scored the go-ahead goal for Lancaster in the second overtime period last Friday when the Red Devils edged Washington & Lee, 2-1, in a Northern Neck District boys soccer match.
Washington & Lee slipped its only goal by LHS keeper Nathan Spier late in the first half to hold a 1-0 lead at the break. Hunter Koonce scored Lancaster’s first goal on an assist by Kiran Bhattari 20 minutes into the second half and the game was knotted at 1-1 to end regulation time.
