Red Devils edge Indians, 3-2, in overtime

Evan Steensma scored on two penalty kicks, including one in extra minutes, to give Lancaster a 3-2 overtime victory over host Northumberland in a rainy, cold boys soccer game last Tuesday.

The two teams played to a 1-1 lock at the half after Steensma’s first penalty kick and a goal by Northumberland’s Cody Wiggins. The score remained knotted until late in the second half when George Shaw slipped a shot by Lancaster keeper Nathan Spier with 15 minutes to play to give the Indians a 2-1 lead.

Henry Smith, who led Lancaster’s offense with four shots on goal, found the net with 15 seconds remaining for a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation…
